"My Journey to a Holistic Perspective"

In the subject, ‘Philosophy of the Human Person’, I have learned to reflect on my experiences beyond my emotions, desires, greed, and more. Through this, I was able to analyze and observe my actions and thoughts from a wide range of deeper perspectives in my life. The poster that I created shows important moments in my life that shaped who I am today, moments of struggle, my worth, my understanding, my learnings, and more, and also in my favorite sports.

One experience is that I was trying to try out for a basketball team, and I was getting ready. After that day, me and my pops plan to play 5v5 pick-up basketball and we will bansin or to play the next game after who wins the game and I was just showing off that i could fly and do amazing layups and that day i was on a fastbreak when I was going for a lay up and the unexpected thing is when i saw my father in front of me trying to block me afterwards he falled in front of my body or i was na datugan and my right arm got badly injured or napiang and i cried and cried because and i can’t move it no more and after that i got a friend and he has an auntie that knows how to massage or hilot someone that is badly injured and after that i got massage and thankfully i recovered easily but it still hurts so much and then i haven’t played my favorite sports for 2 months. That experience taught me a big lesson: Don’t show off or be arrogant, especially when it’s not even your time to play. Instead, observe, learn, and respect the game and the people playing it. Arrogance will always catch up to you, like karma quietly waiting. I know my dad didn’t mean to hurt me; it was completely unexpected. But from that day on, I promised myself to always stay humble in basketball and in life.

Initially, I viewed the situation from a very limited perspective. I blamed myself, compared myself to others, and felt discouraged. My thoughts were clouded with frustration and guilt. But after reflecting on the experience, I began to understand it holistically. I considered how failure was part of the process, how my emotions affected my thinking, and how the people who supported me gave me a bigger view of success.

By shifting from a partial to a holistic perspective, I saw the bigger picture that failure is not the opposite of success, but a part of it. This understanding helped me approach other challenges in life with a wiser and more open mind. Through my reflection, I learned that philosophy is not just about theories but about how we view our lives. By connecting my personal experiences to philosophical concepts, I was able to develop a deeper understanding of myself and the world. The poster I created is about the sports that I love, and it symbolizes my journey of moving beyond the surface, from a limited view to a holistic perspective.
